eVisa Information - Applying Australian Visa online

This is the stage when you have received EOI invite; so now you have option of 'Apply Visa' on your Skill-Select EOI page. First of all - congratulation :)! You seem to be on top of World - good, but come down to mother earth now, as we still have to do some running to achieve the final Goal :p

Before you click on 'Apply Visa' button - here's some information on what's waiting for you at the other side of clicking the button to apply visa.

  • In the process you will get your TRN (ID for visa process) generated and you will be asked to set a password.
  • You will go through many screens of filling up your information, similar to what you did in EOI but this would be on large scale; including information on dependents too.
  • When above two things are done, as a last step - you would be required to pay the fees which currently stands at AUD 3060. This can be paid by either Debit or Credit card which is either of Visa, MC, etc. Also, this can be non-Australian card but should have capability to do international transactions and off-course it should have that much limit; so better inquire from your bank if you are not sure about the same.
  • There will be acknowledgement mail generated and sent to you with subject like: <File#> - <TRN#> - <Name> - IMMI Acknowledgement of Valid Application Received. This may be received between 0 to 10 days after paying fees. But, this timing is not known to have any effect on processing. Some people have even reported not have even received this acknowledgement mail, but got their PR normally. This mail would have 2 attachments - Acknowledgement and Application Summary.
  • You would now be able to login to eVisa site through this link using your generated TRN and the password you set.
  • If the link given above does not work or you don't see the attached documents or some other weird stuff happens in eVisa site - just don't worry! There are tech glitches on this and it will come back to normal after some minutes/hours.
  • On the opened eVisa page, you are now required to upload all the documents to support your Visa application; this would include documents to prove you are eligible to apply, documents to support points you declared in EOI, PCC (police clearance certificate), form 80, form 1221, etc. (Description of the same given below)
  • You have to apply within 60 days of receiving invite. Then - after that you can upload docs you are required to. You will be allocated CO within 5 or so weeks then he will ask for missing docs and give you 28 days to provide the same. So you have 60 + 5 w + 28 days to provide pcc and meds from the invite date; and 5w + 28 days to provide all documents from Date of Visa Lodgement. Also even if in given days you are not able to provide PCC or any other docs for that matter - you can ask for extension by providing proof that you have applied for that particular doc and its taking time. They provide the extension - no issues in that.
  • These are documents from DIAC that you can refer to see what all you need to upload:
  • Note that you can upload to eVisa page either Original Color Scans or Certified Photocopy Of Originals (but certification stamp should also be color scanned). Certified in India means 'Notarized'; or else where signed and stamped by any person authorized to certify a photocopy as legit.
  • Formats that can be used are: .DOC, .DOCX, .DOT, .XLS, .PPT, .RTF, .TXT, .GIF, .JPG , .BMP, .PDF.
    • Most preferred format is PDF; use that.
    • Size limit per file is 5mb; count limit is 60 files.
    • To keep file size under check is to use 96 dpi for images.
    • Combine related pages in single PDF file. Like combine passport front and back in single PDF file.
    • For additional information and details you can check this DIAC page
    • You can use a PDF editor software like PDFill to merge PDF pages.
  • Also make sure you upload correct document with correct description - there's no option to edit, delete or even see uploaded document. Once uploaded, you can just see the name of document.
  • Below is the indicative list of documents that you can refer to upload to eVisa site (this is NOT comprehensive list necessarily):
For Main applicant
1) University transcripts
2) University degree cert
3) University_grade_card
4) Assessment_Letter_ACS

6) IELTS_TRF certificate
7) Secondary_school_cert
8) Form80 ***
9) Identification_cards(ID cards from different countries)

12) Reference letter(with detail of roles etc) from my managers in stamp paper ,along with it i attached business card of the manager(wherever possible)
13) Payslip for all the companies (at-least few months payslip from each employer,CO generally never asks for entire payslip from each company)

17) Appreciation letters
18) Relieving letter

There are two different headings in the eVisa page.
  • Attachments provided
    • Documents that you upload appear under 'Attachments provided' in eVisa page.
  • Next steps- Documents and its various status that appear under 'Next steps':
    • Recommended- Things that you are recommended to load (They are not necessarily required as its a generally generic list and may not apply to you)
    • Required- Generally whatever you upload, appear in this list as required.
    • Requested - Means CO requires this document to be uploaded by you. Upload the indicated document.
    • Received- When the uploaded document is checked by someone (most probably CO) and marked as received (does not mean finalized)
    • Met - Means Documents are finalized.
    • BF (Brought Forward) or TRIM (The Requirement Is Met) - Means Documents are finalized
  • Links on eVisa-
    • Character, Evidence of - Form 80 Personal particulars for character assessment -This link comes up automatically - no relation to any activity on eVisa application has been reported for this. This basically means that you need to upload Form 80 for the applicants under which this link has been seen. If you have already uploaded Form 80 earlier (yes, if you already have loaded then also this can appear) - then just ignore this. No action required.
    • Organize your health examination - This link should be there under each applicant's name (primary and secondary) once you have lodged your Visa. You need to click on the link which says 'organize your health examination' and fill in the forms which have general questions related to your current and past medical status; once you are done, you can take the print of referral letter generated to take along with your passport and 4 passport sized photographs (for each applicant) when going for medical tests to clinic - which you need to call up listed clinic which your prefer for taking appointment. You 'can' wait to do medical till your CO says so - but its always better to do it before CO allocation as it saves time. For more information on medical status, referral to MOC or medical link problem, go Australia Migration Medical Page.
      • Take note that the online medical system was changed in start of Feb 2013 from eHealth to eMedical - difference between these are that now you don't have to select clinic to go to - but just need to fill up forms etc. And take appointment from any clinic and they should be able to search you through your TRN (It's always better to check with them while scheduling appointment that if they are able to see your TRN or not)

Note - eVisa do behave in weird way sometimes - so do not take status change very seriously ;-p. Also - sometimes you would not be able to view uploaded documents in eVisa system, or eVisa status changes and go back to 'application received' from 'in progress' - don't worry, system goes down occasionally; login after sometime - things should be back to normal!

Apply Visa AustraliaWhen you are done with all the things at your end after lodging Visa - including uploading all the documents plus PCC and also done with Medicals. Then steps from your side are done, now you wait and wait.
After this - in some time you will be allocated a CO, Case Officer, who will evaluate your case. Timing of allocation of a CO is given on this page on DIAC's website - this keeps on updating as per their current speed  and number of applications they are receiving. If your duration has exceeded this given time frame then you can call up DIAC on this number: 0061 1300 364 613 to ask for CO assignment date/team and if medical are finalized. Generally there's 25-35 min waiting before you get to talk to operator. Also, this number is premium number - meaning it would cost more than local if calling from Australia - and it would cost way more than international if calling from outside Oz. Special international activation might be needed to call this number (alternatively you can use service such as Skype for this for cheaper rates). Operator should ask your personal information to confirm you are who you say you are.

Note - As per DIAC - CO allocation is strictly on base of application date only inside a priority level.

After CO is allocated, s/he would review your case and ask for any missing documents (or the ones s/he is not able to access on his system - yeah, sometimes that also happens) through mail. You can send documents as reply to his/her mail and might also want to attach the same to eVisa page. Depending on your case and his/her speed you should get grant shortly (If all's well) - timeline is different for different cases.

TIP: It is strongly suggested to upload all documents including PCC before CO is assigned. Also, be done with your medicals ASAP (for more reasons, check Australia Immigration Medical page). If you have everything uploaded and done with medicals - it speeds up the processing of your application as CO does not have to wait on your documents or medicals. Its best to NOT to wait for CO to start your PCC and medical process - some agents suggest you do wait for CO, but they are just either playing wrong or playing for themselves - as this WOULD delay your process. Only time you wait for CO before taking those steps - is when you willingly want to delay getting grant. For more information check speeding up  Australia PR visa process.

* PCC - Can be obtained even before lodging Visa. Police clearance certificates (PCC): You will have to provide police clearance from every country where you have lived cumulatively for equal to or more than 1 year in the last 10 years. The PCC is valid for 1 year. Different countries have different ways to get PCC - check here to find out yours; I would suggest to get an idea from the link provided but also do a google search as things can change frequently.

** PCC and MED Date are decider - When you get the grant you need to visit Australia before a date given in the grant letter - this date is generally 1 year + min (Date of PCC or Date of Meds).
For example let's suppose you have following dates:
PCC = 10 Nov 2012
Meds = 20 Dec 2012
Grant = 1 Jan 2013

Now - there can be two things depending on CO - your max entry date (date prior to which you and all dependents in your application need to enter Australia to validate PR) can be either:
1 Jan 2014 - which is 1 year from grant date OR
10 Nov 2013 - which is 1 year from min of (meds or PCC); as PCC was prior to Meds - hence date of PCC would be used.

*** Form 80 is a form for personal particulars. Its not mandatory unless CO asks for the same - and CO may or may not ask an applicant for the same. But it's better to have it filled prior to being asked from CO as its a long form (18 pages) - so, would save time if spend time filling it and resolving any doubt while filling it in the CO-wait-time you have. And if you have already filled it, better upload it then it might help get grant faster - and free up CO for the next applicant.
  • To download form 80, use this link.
  • You can fill up all of form 80 on computer.
  • You can use Foxit Reader to edit and save the filled form 80.
  • You can fill the rest of the pages on computer; just take print of page to be signed, sign it and then scan the same in pdf format. Then you can use a PDF editor software like PDFill to merge the filled form 80 kept in system and the one scanned (in PDF format) page. You are done.
Form 1221 is similar to Form 80 but smaller, sometimes that's asked to - but if you have already uploaded form 80 before CO is assigned - you should not be asked for 1221 as its kind of subset of Form 80.

****Some of the methods to demonstrate functional English language ability include:
  • evidence of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of at least an average 4.5 for the four test components (speaking, reading, listening and writing)
  • evidence of an Occupational English Test score which is at least equivalent to IELTS 4.5 and the test was relevant to the nominated occupation
  • the main applicant’s first language is English and they have a current passport from the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, New Zealand or the Republic of Ireland
  • evidence that the applicant has been assessed by an AMEP service provider in Australia as having functional English
  • evidence the applicant holds a trade, diploma or higher qualification awarded by an institution in or outside Australia which required at least two years full-time study and all instruction was undertaken in English
  • evidence the applicant has successfully completed at least one year full-time or equivalent study in Australia for a diploma or higher qualification and all instruction was undertaken in English.

"Note that you can upload either Original Color Scans or Certified Photocopy Of Originals (but certification stamp should also be color scanned)" Is this mean Original Color Scans is equvelent to certified copy?

  3. Hi Mate..
Thanks for your support in providing detailed information and answering questions.
My Question is Do we need to show any evidences for supporting financially? and also During Skill Assessment, Does ACS decide how many points we can claim or is it either +ve or -ve ?

    1. Hi Rock,
      Your Welcome!
      1. If you are going 189 route then you don't need to show any evidence of any finance. Though process itself requires some funds; but you don't need to show. If you're going for 190 route then mostly you need to mention funds you have - although you need to be honest there, but still no evidence required.

      2. ACS just says that your 'so-and-so' qualification is approved on 'so-and-so' level. Likewise, your 'so-many' years are assessed as per 'so-and-so' ANZSCO code. It does not mention points!

Best of luck on this journey!

  4. Thanks for this nice artical...nicely put up!

I recently lodged 189 PR application.
    Have 3 question:

    1) Am not seeing the EOI status update to LODGED instead its showing as 'INVITED'! I hope I need not worry about this!

    2) Am not seeing ACS details in my application when I log into the e-visa app. I clicked on the view main app ( just above view receipt), but mine and my spouse ACS details are vanished!

    3) Am not seeing the "Organize Health examinatons.." link under my name, however I cud see these Health links under my wife's and my kid's sections! ?

I am kind of confused and nervous!

    Any inputs please?

    Thank you

    1. Hi Chandra,
      Thanks for the kind words!
      1) There's a tech bug in EOI. As long as you have your TRN number of visa application and able to login to eVisa page. you're good!
      2) ACS details? you are supposed to upload each document which you sent to ACS + some more as given in the page above. Am not sure which ACS details you are talking about. Sometimes you don't see already uploaded things - but it would come back later. Even if not then when you have CO, he will ask for missing thing - so you can mail him later - no worries.
      3) That is again due to some bug in their site - contact CC through mail, they would be able to help. Check the medical page - you will be able to see the way to contact medical related team.

Its okay to be a bit nervous. But be sure in the way you proceed. It WILL be fine! Don't worry.

      Best of Luck!

"Am not sure which ACS details you are talking about"
      > Just above the Documents section, there is a link besides Application submitted label called "View application" - when i clicked on it - it would take me to the main application which we used to fill ( like personnel details, ACS, Employement etc.) before making payement! Am mentioning of that ACS which we had filled before lodging which is something vanished when i clicked on 'View Application'. Hope this is clear.

Reg # 3: what is CC? can u point me out there email address ? when i can I veiw the Medical page? It can be viewed only when the Health link is appearing correct?

      Thank you

    6. Hi,
Today I got CO allocated, however in one of his attachment he said that I cannot claim points for my wife's IELTS skills (as pasted below). My wife took test on Feb-14th whereas i received my 189 PR - invitation on Feb-4th. If I cannot claim points for her - I would not reach the cut-off of 60, i would get 55 points only which may not be sufficient..:(...Please advise if there is something I can do abt this ?
      -----------------------------
      PARTNER SKILLS
You have indicated that you wish to be considered for partner skills points. To be eligible you
must provide evidence that at the time of invitation to apply for the visa, the spouse or de facto
partner of the primary applicant had competent English.
The date of invitation for you to apply for this visa is 4 February 2013.
The IELTS Test Report Form you have provided in the name ABC(aa/bb/cc)
is dated 14 February 2013, and is not acceptable as evidence of competent English.
      --------------------------------------------------
Please visit the SkillSelect web site for more information:
      http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-189
If you are unable to demonstrate evidence of competent English at the time of invitation you
may be unable to satisfy the points requirements for grant of this visa.
      ------------------------------------------------------
      Worried :(

      Thank you.
      Chandra

    7. Hi Chandra,
      That is not good!
Seems like you declared IELTS as 'passed' even before your wife had IELTS score. As per DIAC, you should be able to prove the points you have AT the time of Invitation. But, you can not prove that, because you claimed expected points at that instant of time and not ACTUAL points.
At this time - I do NOT believe this application will be entertained by DIAC; better try to withdraw the application with refund. In cases of over claiming, they might not even refund your money!
What option did CO gave you?

    8. Hi,
I realized that we should have the IELTS scores at the time of invitation ..only Today when I got my CO mail :(.
CO haven't given me any option. I will send a mail to CO this is something am not aware of. let see what happens...!
      Thank you

  6. Hey Superm,

This is OZJunkie, I hope you remember me . I had a couple of questions regarding my medicals :

    1) I do not see "Organize health Information" on my Evisa Page (I am awaiting CO allocation )

    2) Can I book an appointment with a DIAC listed hospital on my own, fill out form 26, form 160 and proceed with the medicals without clicking on "Organize health Information" ?

    3) I have already got my medicals done 6 months back, in a reputed hospital, but its not a DIAC listed one. Cant i reuse the results ?

    1. Hi OzJunkie - do remember you mate! Hope you're doing good!
1)That bug happens to quite a few people. Did you check medical page of this site? Its mentioned that you can mail a team to get your technical issues resolved! DO check and mail them.
      2) I don't think you can do that - but I'd suggest calling up the clinic you are planning to get meds done and ask if you come with these offline forms then can they perform test and upload your result in their system - tell them your TRN, they should be able to check you up on system.
3)No, you can not use clinic that's not on their list.
      Hope you got your answers.
Take care - best of Luck!

    2. Thanks for the reply dude. Since the medical system has changed to e medical and we no longer need to select the clinic, I assumed its okay to Fill out the forms offline and go to a listed hospital.

Now here comes my questions. I called the listed hospital and they said that if i get my EVISA page print out with TRN number, they can search and upload my results not a problem. So the hospital has no problem. But I wanted to know if DIAC will have a problem ? ( if I proceed by filling out offline forms and without clicking organize health info )

    3. Hi OzJ,
Am afraid there might be a problem - as the forms that you fill online are not exactly same as offline forms. Also - these online information that you fill in would be going to your visa/mdeical file for the finalizing team to look at before your medical are finalized; which will be missing if you opt to bypass them. I'd think that to be sure, you should mail the team to solve the issue - if already done, then wait it out a bit!

  7. Hey thanks dude. Loooks like your reply has done wonders and worked like a charm! As soon as your replied, I checked my EVISA page again and VOILA! the link has re-appeared :)

    Issue resolved , thanks!

One last question from my end.

Due to negligence / incompetence of a doctor, I underwent cancer tests last year. However, all the reports were negative and I TOOK no medications for it. Do I reveal this info in the medicals or do I keep quiet( since the results were negative anyway). I am concerned that if i reveal this, it will only delay my application and they may ask for additional tests and documentation.

    1. Hi OzJ,
That's great - your welcome buddy! Congrats :)

I don't think that should be mentioned as you rightly said - it were negative - so it's alright mate! IF there was NO trace at all - no mention required!
But if there is/was anything else, do mention that!
      Best of Luck!

  8. Hi,

    1. Hi Sravan,
If you add any person as 'Non-migrating dependent', you are required to produce their medical and PCC both.
So, it is suggested that if you are doing that much work of getting PCC and Medicals then have them added as migrating dependent only. But in that case - you would need to 'prove' the they are actually dependent on you; and there are lot of points by DIAC to prove - they should be financially dependent on you for long time; I believe they also a condition which says they should be single.
Other option is to have them listed as non-dependent: in that case, you don't need to prove anything and neither you need to provide their PCC and medical.
Basically Oz government have left a little room to allow one's parents to be added to a skilled applicant's PR.
      Hope that gives some information.

  9. Thanks a lot for the reply.I always refer to this blog whenever I have a question and its really helpful.Instead of adding her as non-migrating dependent can I remove her from application submitting 1023 form?Read somewhere that we can correct visa application details using that form.

    1. Yes - you can. You would need to mention reason of doing so; you can mention the reality that she is not dependent on you - earlier you thought of that in terms of Indian culture! Which you did!

    1. Hi Sravan,
Yes, you can wait for CO. When you get your CO, he will anyways will be mailing you asking your mother's pcc and medical - you can then mention your mistake and send form to him to correct the same.
      Best of luck!

    2. Hi Admin,
When the corretion in form 1023 is provided or uploaded. How long does it take to then see the correction appearing on the eVISA link. I have made a mistake of typing the date of birth incorrectly in. Instead of typing 09-Dec-1978 I typed 19-DEC-1978. I guess when the drop down came up I did not select the zero and it went on the 1. I do not have a CO yet or at least no one has contacted me. But what i see if I upload a document. It turns to received status in a day or 2. Which makes me wonder.
      Thanks,
      Jude

  11. Hello superm,

Saw your blog link on expatforum. We have already submitted all the required docs by our CO since Mar 13, but to date there is no update from him yet. Though last Apr 4, after sending email to him, he replied that our application is undergoing routine checking procedures. Do you roughly have an idea what is the waiting time for visa grant if all docs have been submitted and no other requirements from CO?

Thank you for your time reading this. Appreciate it

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Janice,
Generally when CO says - 'routine checking' - they may take 4-5 weeks to get things sorted! Its said, that they make checks on your PCC and employment, which can take up this time.
On other hand - there are cases, which were finalized in days. I'd suggest you to wait 3 weeks to drop another follow up mail if CO has not given any timeline; if he has given expected timeline - then drop a mail when that time has crossed.
I know wait is a killer!
      Best of Luck!

  12. Hi

The information you have posted is excellent. I had a few questions in mind which were already answered here. I still have a few questions. I was trying to do eHealth but the list of hospitals and radiologists in the form are located in Tokyo. I am in Australia right now than why would it show me list of Japan? There is no way of selecting country either. I have now booked manual Health Processing. Does this mean the result of checkup will be posted to me and than i should send it to CO when she/he is allocated?

    1. Hi Shrilekha,
I thought the online medical system now does not ask you to select any health center but just few questions.
Generally if this happens then the reason is perhaps you filled in usual country of residence as 'Japan' somewhere? (please do review your application once just to make sure). If its system fault - then you could have mailed the team as mentioned in medical page of this site. They should be able to resolve the same.
Now that you have chose paper ones - in this case also clinic will courier the result to you and to DIAC (2 copied will be sent out) - your copy would be sealed you can not open it until CO confirms!
      Best of luck!

    3. Hi I had one more question. I had uploaded a document earlier but i happened to realize that somehow a page is missing in the pdf. Is it possible to upload the same document again after adding the missing page? If once the Documents are attached than can they be replaced with another one if required? As there is no edit or remove button for uploaded Docs.

    4. Hi Shrilekha,
Nope - its not possible to edit/replace/delete existing documents. Just upload corrected document - put added word 'corrected' or 'updated' in description of the document and you should be good.

  13. Hi All, I would like to ask anyone if eMedical results take long to be processed even though taking exams one week before. My doctor told me he sent my results through eMedical on April 15th but my CO says that she hasn't received my medical results. Is it normal? regarding it is an online system... tahnks for your help. 1. Hi Sebastian,
Did you check the medical page on this site?
Are you still seeing the 'organize your health exam' link on your eVisa page? Link should dissappear within a week when your meds are uploaded. So, wait a few days and if that is still there - ask your clinic persistently if meds are loaded, sometimes they just say but have not uploaded.
If meds are loaded but not received by CO then follow instructions given on medical page on this site to mail the concerned team with the problem you are facing!
      Best of luck!

  14. Hi,

Thanks a lot for the step by step info, I was able to get clarifications to lot of queries I had on Evisa. I wanted to know what is the approximate time to get CO Allocation, as its been 5 weeks now and still CO is not allocated for me for 189 Visa but I have received the acknowledgement Mail from them. And also I have a 3 month old baby and I have included her in my application, do I need to get MEDs and PCC done for her? Please clarify these queries.

    1. Hi,
You should get CO soon - as currently 5-7 weeks is the usual time!
You have not gone for medical yet? Please do it ASAP if you don't want to willingly delay the process. Please read my post on getting grant in speed:
      http://pr4oz.blogspot.com/2013/04/SpeedUp-GrantProcess.html

For medical of such young baby like yours - it should be just physical check-up, nothing more than that! Hope that clarifies your doubts.

Hope you don't mind - but If you would have followed my suggestion of submitting the form 80 before CO allocation in the link I gave you in above comment - this time of the asking and receiving form 80 cycle would have been avoided!
But I hope that your CO would reply pretty soon and you will receive the Grant shortly!

  15. Hi Superm,

Finally, I have got the invite on 30-Apr-2013. I have three doubts while filing VISA application. Please help me to get these sorted.

    a) Do I need to mention about my technical certifications in Education Category ?

    b) What should be the main language ? Is it other than English, like for me I guess it should be Hindi (as I am an Indian).

    c) How to answer this question ?
"Does the applicant have any dependent family members not travelling to Australia who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents?"

My mother is a divorcee and will retire from her job next year. I am the only child, we are a small family of just three - myself, my spouse and my mother. Though, she is not dependent on me financially but for all other needs and has no one to look after her.

Please forgive my ignorance on this.

    1. Hi Jyoti,
      Congrats on the Invite :)
      a) I don't think that is needed if those are just certification and did not help you with any point scoring!
      b) Hindi - yeah!
      c) As per DIAC - she is not dependent on you as she has a job - you would not be able to prove her dependency! Point is you can not include her in your application, nor can you mention her as non-migrating dependent; as in that case you would need to provide for her medicals and PCC too even she's would not be getting any pr or anything.
Hope that ans your questions. Best of luck!

  16. If I have submitted the paperwork requested by the CO before the 28 days. But then there was a comment on some documents or she needs more clarification on something or a document was not how she needed it; does it disqualify me?? Or the process goes on with no problems as long as I bring back what she needs?? I have some problems with gathering some papers; but I have not gone back or asked the CO of anything. I plan to gather all what I can and submit before deadline. But am afraid that it would not be enough, and since time will pass, that this could cause an issue and she will not ask for clarification and such.
    Can you advise?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Sara,
Let me explain a bit: CO gives 28 days to provide documents, but if it takes you more time to get those documents you can ask document for extension by telling the reason - or better yet, show him/her the proof that you are on track to get those documents.
Like if someone goes for PCC - he can show receipt or applying PCC to CO if receiving PCC will take more than 28 days. In these cases, CO will give extension.
I'd suggest if you know that it will take time, ask CO for extension first and then provide the document which will satisfy CO. Don't make things go to and fro, ask for time - and give proper document!
      Hope that helps!
      Best of Luck!

      2. Was your salary taxable? If not - then no issues. Otherwise - it can be a concern - don't you have any way to retrieve any tax document either from company or govt?

  19. Lodged 189 visa on 6th May. I have been living and working in UAE and Korea alternatively in the past 10 years. My overseas stay was like this: UAE-Korea-UAE-Korea (current). My question is about the bank statements and the tax details. It would be an ardous task for me to get the bank statements from UAE since it was almost a decade ago. And tax was not applicable in my stay at UAE and during my first instance in Korea. But right now, I have the tax details for my current job. Would it be a much mandatory document to upload or it depends on the CO's request? Moreover if you have any tips for obtaining PCC from UAE (apart from the DIAC website information), please let me know. I had stayed at Fujairah and Dubai on each instance. Thank you for the wonderful information you have been providing on this thread.

    1. Hi Prem,
I'd suggest try getting bank statements from the account (even if closed) - sometimes bank do oblige to do that. No harm in trying!
Tax documents are not compulsary - but these are something that almost all COs ask for to get convinced that your job was a paid job. So, you need to have a good convincing combination salary, bank statement or tax document.
But the fact that there are countries where tax is not applicable is understood by COs well, hence not asked for! But they'd need some other proof!
Hope that helps! Best of luck!

  20. Hi Superm,

I have been invited for "Skilled Nominated Subclass VISA Subclass 190" and myself and my wife are applicants.

I have a doubt in Medicals.

After clicking on "Organize your health examination" link, I need to fill in few details.

What happens after I submit those ? Do I get the list of hospitals (for me it should be Max and Sadhu Vaswani since I am based in Delhi) and I need to choose among them.

Do we also get the list of dates too ? Are these dates flexible ?

Do we also need to manually fill up forms (like Form 26, 160 and 1071i) or everything would be done electronically ?

I just wanted to have a clear picture before submitting the starting questions, as myself and my wife would have to apply leave well in advance in our respective offices.

    Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

  21. Hi Shekky, As mention on the current page itself - Click here to directly goto the para explaning organizing medical
As mentioned - after you fill up forms, you would be given referral letter to take print out for. Call up the clinic you are willing to go to and is present in DIAC list too. You should be shown the ones in your area. Call up the clinic, take appointment. Ask them what all to bring, and if form 26 etc are required? These should not be required as they are almost the same what you will be filling in online form prior to referral letter!
Go with it - you would be good!

But don't you have receipt of fee paid to clinic? Generally received from where you paid fee for tests? Even if that is not with you, then also it's not a big deal! Wait out a week or so, after that may be call your CO up if you have his/her number!

  24. Hi,

Firstly thanks for the detailed information shared.....

I have a question regarding employment document.

Firstly, I have got my skill select done as Engineering manager, so do I straight away lodge for EOI or wait for documents to ready like PCC and other employment docs.

Secondly, In my company the salary is not regularly paid its mostly delayed by couple of months. So my bank statement does not show the fluency in the salary part. I want to understand whether it will matter??

Also, do I need to get salary slips of previous company also or tax returns and bank statements will suffice.

    thanks & regards

    Replies
    1. Hi Laukik,
I would suggest you to go through EOI page of this blog if you have not yet. In EOI, you just need assessment + IELTS for yourself (plus for spouse if claiming partner points). There are no documents to be submitted/uploaded for EOI - just the reference number of assessment and IELTS!
Ir-regular salary should not matter much I guess; but it would be better if you can have this in written from HR or similar that salary is not regular - that would help strengthen the case.
Again - good combination of salary slips, bank statement and tax documents makes your case stronger; try getting the salary slips, even if few. If not, then bank statement + tax documents should suffice; but it's really on the CO checking the documents - he might demand salary slips too or may be not; there's no hard and fast rule to it!
Hope that helps - Best of Luck for Australia Migration!

Regarding the Visa label, it's not required. Like I just confirmed from Thai Airways, which will be flying via Bangkok that label would not be required. You can check similarly from respective flight customer care over e-mail telling them from where your connecting flight is. Again - this is just confirmation, most probably you would not require Visa label and save 70AUD each passport!

  28. Hi..
I need some info.. I am a structural Engineer with master's degree from UK. I am planning to apply for 189 visa with my wife from India. I have 2.5 year of PG and total of 3.5 years expi.
    1) My points score is exact 60. Do I have a chance of getting 189 invitation?
    2) How complicated is the complete process from start to finish.. Should I go for an agent?
    3) Where to check scores at which visa is granted on DIAC website.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Abhijeet,
      1) For 189, till now it's minimum criteria is points = 60. So you can submit your EOI if you have that many points; after that, invites are based on points and then date of submission - so depending on number of people who have submitted their EOIs in that time frame will decide if you will get an invite. This is described in EOI page of Migrate to Australia home page
Also - only the experience which is after the highest degree you use to gain points is counted. No experience before that is counted!
      2) Complete process is described here - check the link given in above point. If your case is straigh forward with no complexity involved - and you can spare time to study about the process and keep yourself updated about changing processes. Its suggest to do it yourself.
      3) I did not get your question clearly. Did you mean how to check ceiling of particular occupation type? That's in report section of skill select website. Its link is also given on this site's EOI page I believe!
Hope that helped - best of Luck!

"Also - only the experience which is after the highest degree you use to gain points is counted. No experience before that is counted!"
I have done basic Migration evaluation from an agent. They have counted my pre bachelors experience (in 2004-2205) of 1 year to claimed 5 points.
After reading above statement, i called them and asked about clarification. As per them what they have done is correct. I tried searching online about this point but couldn't find anything.
Can you please provide me link or website where it is mentioned that experience has to be after degree.

FYI: I have not taken their consultancy yet.. Paid some 1k for basic evaluation

    3. Hi Abhijeet,
I may or may not be able to convince you completely here - but its from my experience of seeing other people get through similar circumstances that I speak; and finally its your call. I just hope you make the right one :)
See the point of DIAC is if you are getting points of a particular degree then it would be related to your occupation code obviously - and if it is then you would be skilled in that particular occupation after the study is complete - hence experience before that is not counted as skilled. Also note - that when you have bachelors and masters both - you would get points only for Masters, hence you are skilled after masters. Check:
      This link
      Also this Link
      Also this link

Also - in the forums like Expatforum - there were cases where people have counted experience before masters in EOI and that was rejected from DIAC. To confirm this, you can reach out to DIAC customer care - if possible - and talk about this!
Overclaiming points in EOI results in rejection of visa - mostly with no return of money!
Either play safe - or get confirmation from DIAC itself that this will be fine; do NOT take agent's word for it!
Hope that helps - keep me posted.
      Best of Luck!

  30. Hi,

CO was alloted on May 14,2013 and he requested for Medicals and PCC
I got medicals done on May 11, 2013 in the IMMI panel clinic. I checked with the hospital and they confirmed that Medicals are uploaded on May 20. Post that I noticed "Organise Health examination" link disappeared. However the Health Evidence status still reads as "Requested".

I dropped a note to the CO to confirm completion of Medicals on May 20th. I did not receive any reply. So just wanted to check has anyone elde been through the same situation and what doesit mean?Ho long does it take for the Status to show as "Received"

Do not ponder much over the status in eVisa page, as I have mentioned in various articles on this site that eVisa status more often than not - does not reflect reality. You would just need to wait for your CO to give his word on it - also is there anything else that's pending? PCC done?
And to answer your question - yes, it has happened to many - statuses does not show reality in many cases!

Thanks a lot for your reply. PCC for my spouse is done. Only my PCC is pending. On Saturday we went to the police station and provided the address proof and filled the other forms. However, the police officer said it will take minimum of 21 days after taking a bribe.

The systems are very badly integrated. We applied for PCC on 17th May and 25th when we went to the police station to my surprise my file was lying at the last and the man says as it is I went late. He said he will send it to the commissioner office today. May be we need to visit the commissioner office as well if we want the file to be processed.

Can I ask you couple of questions?

    1. Can a person on 457 dependent visa travel to Australia while PR application is in process?
    2. Do one need to be outside Australia before DIAC can grant the migrant visa or if the applicant is already in Australia does he/she needs to go out of Australia once for grant to be reflected in passport?

    TIA,
    Chinna.

    1. Hi Chinna,
      1) I believe you can do that as you have a visa in place. But this would be change of circumstances, hence you might want to inform your CO about the move.
      2) I believe this used to happened earlier - now they do not let the location of applicant be that much of a major factor while granting. Most probably, you would not be required to leave the country! And, now grant is just electronic, visa label is not required on Passport!
      Hope that answers your Questions!

  33. Hi Admin,

Lodged 189 application on 06th May and awaiting CO.
    I have two questions.
    1) In Form 80, Q45 asks to list out the countries where we had travelled for 10 years from now. When I stayed in UAE for some period, I used to visit my parents in Oman and return same day. I have travelled like this for more than two dozen times. So I want to know whether the countries or the visits, which is more specific? If it would be the visits, then Iam done for. Right now, I have mentioned ALL the countries that I had travelled but if I had travelled the same country for holiday (3-5 days) more than twice or thrice, I have just mentioned one visit period. Kindly clarify.

    2) Does the profession shown in the PCC count? For eg. Iam an Engineer by profession, but when I entered UAE first time in 2003, my visa was a Technician visa. When I applied for PCC, I put in all my visa pages (totally 3 - the latter 2 visas indicates Engineer). In the PCC, Dubai police have mentioned "Technician Helper" but in fact my skills assessment was done for "Production or Plant Engineer". Kindly advise.

    Thank you,

      2. PCC has purpose of showing that you are good in terms of police records; I think it would be fine!
      3. Yeah, spouse would also need to fill that!
      Hope that helps!

  34. Do All Pakistani cases Get Referred???????

I hv a lil query...if anyone can comment on dat?
My Medical Centre people have confirmed about our family medical exmainations that there was absolutely nothing abnormal... every thing was perfactly normal.. Although they have refused to give us the medical reports ....as those are sent directly by them.... We did our medicals on 23rd May... My CO has confirmed that our Medicals have been refferred and I can also see the Pictures (taken in the hostpial) under Organize your health link of entire family....
BEfore going for medicals I also did the tests privately and there too it was all fine...

What could possibly be the reasons... I hv just read on DIAC website... that in case of health condition or if tests were conducted in a certain country, the medicals are referred to MOC.

Since I belong to Pakistan I was just wondering, if anyone knows about any case where someone from Pakistan got 190 VISA without Medicals being referred especially in Near Past?if Any

    1. Hi,
No - Meds, I believe, do NOT have anything to do with your country!
If anything that will be security checks not meds. I have seen Pakistani people getting 190 straight away without any delays.

MOC reference can also be in case when everything is normal sometimes - for reason unkown. Do not worry - these days MOC takes quite less time to clear Meds, if no problem is seen!
      All the best!

Good info n feedback truout ur trds!
we lodged 190 after NSW invite tru EOI on 8th of April,13 after a ttl period of 1.3yr Cat:242111 Uni Lec.
The NSW SS got delayed because of Point advise they asked which took another 3 months.
we uploaded all docs 16yrs experiance cert with fin docs Bank Books etc etc along with PCC n Meds on 23rd April.
We did not get the ACK letter till we called twice toDIAC with wait of 30 min each....finally they took a note on second call on 20th may that a copy of ACK be resend.
Q1.We got ACK on 23rd May with date 23rd MAY printed on it not 22nd April as confirmed by Operator.....?does it effect our process
Q2. My wife is Principle applicant and I am Sec...Two categories still show Required in Docs upload list
A] my wife Work refernce..... We uploaded all along with Vetasses Point adivory letter...We claim 65 points.
B] My Qualification is BE. All certs are uploaded along with marksheets and SSC HSC Cert but still status is Required ? pl comment..
Q3] How long does it take to process normally with 16yrs exp and Vetassess positive and point advise? I know normally 6 months for Group 3 but they took 2months to give ACK...

    1. RL,
ACK should not matter- some people do not even receive it!
Process does not depend on the years of experience you have. As per DIAC processing under same priority group is done on the basis of date of submission of application. As per trend you should already have CO by now - when you called DIAC did you ask about CO allocation? if yes, what did they say?
6 months is max. - for 190 process generally takes less than 3 months if all is well. People have received results under 1.5 months too!
      - you done with meds and pcc? if not, get that done.
      - upload all supporting docs you have - if anythings still needed - CO will ask you.
Keep me posted - best of Luck!

  37. Dear Admin,
I've been allocated CO exactly 31 days from when I lodged the visa application.
    1) I had done e-Medical and the hospital told that they had sent the results on 10th May. But now the CO has requested to go for meds. Does that mean that the results haven't reached them yet?
    2) I had uploaded my Marriage Certificate and Certificate of Family Relation last month - 2 documents to prove my wedding with my spouse. But the CO has still requested for evidence. Does that mean she expects some more proof?
    3) I had uploaded the PCC yesterday. But today the CO has requested to go for PCC? Does that mean she is unable to see my uploaded PCC??
    4) For Language ability of my spouse, during visa application (06 May) I had given "NO" for attending IELTS test but selected "Yes" for having competent English. She went on to write IELTS later (25 May) to prove an average of 4.5 band score, but will it be a problem since the result will come this Friday (07 Jun). Though Iam not claiming anything with this, Iam still afraid that the result comes after I selected "Yes" for having competent English. Please clarify.

Upload all concern documents u have for all employment.
more u give faster they are able to complete their process.
Make your CV stating ur duties and work achievements. If possible arrange for an experiance letter from your bosses or admin dept or HR stating your duties and responsibilities. All theses are mandatory for all employments IF U CAN PROVIDE......Else give whatever u have and wait for their reply. Also ask all ur offices for EXP Certi but dont mention this to CO that you haave applied for and waiting for the docs etc otherwise CO will put ur case aside till you get all docs....
Duty Statement: Your resposibilties andd work done during ur tenure
Pay slips: If available else upoload form 16 and IT returns and your Bank Passbooks Scans(of Originals)

      3. The employment things - provide what is asked - may be not for all months but do provide or provide genuine reason for not able to provide that. If genuine reason is given - co should understand!
      4. For english - I believe either the letter from college or ielts result should suffice. Selecting 'yes' prior should not matter.

Just waiting for some payslips from my previous company which I managed to track through my friend.
Also going to get the original bank statements for my previous employment, on Monday.
For meds, I got one statement from the hospital that my e-medical was successfully transmitted and also will attach the medical receipt.

  41. Dear Admin,

    Regarding the TRIM.
Though I had initially submitted my work experience certificates, the CO has still asked for more evidence of employment and the status in my eVisa page agains "Evidence of Overseas Work Experience-Others" is TRIM. And I read in the Expat forum that TRIM means "The Requirement Is Mandatory". Is it true? If so, kindly update the definition in the blog.

    3. Hello,
There's no harm in providing extra docs - but yeah, if points are not claimed of that then they would not go in deep checking of the same. CO might want to see your work proof though for general background check - so better to provide some evidence!

Hospital administration completed the medicals but refused to take X-rays. My medical was completed including X-rays and everything. What is expected and what are my options now.
Should I have to wait for baby birth? i.e (Expected Feb 2014)
Can I request my CO to waive X-rays for my wife. Is there any chance they accept her medical without X-rays.

What is the impact of July 2013 changes on my current application if I hold my application until Feb 2014.

You would need to wait till baby is born - as without it x-ray can not be taken. And its better to include your baby in application also, although doing this will delay things a bit more but that is kind of essential.

      Sridhar,
Though you may not claim points for spouse, still she should fill, sign and upload Form80 separately. Attaching supporting documents as Admin had mentioned (ID cards etc.) is for the mere sake of speeding up your case.
The mandatory ones for spouse (no points claimed) are:
      1) Passport
      2) PP Photo
      3) Spouse Relationship evidence (Marriage Certificate, Joint Bank Accounts, Joint insurance, Proof of postal mail received at the same address etc. - The more evidence the more faster)
      4) Functional English (College transcripts where it is mentioned that the medium of instruction was English (OR) IELTS with a min. 4.5 band score)
      5) Medicals
      6) PCC
      7) Form80 (Supporting documents would be much easier for CO to decide on your case and try to fill in each detail on the form)

      Hope the above information helps.

  48. Hi,

Thank you for all the useful info on your website.

I have just submitted my 189 visa application online. I also took your advice and started filling up form 80.

When I got to question 47 on all previous employment, I realised that I was employed during my uni days (part time - less than 20 hours per week), mainly doing admin student enrolment work during the weeks leading up to the start of the semester. This means that I was only working for 1 month in 2005 and about 3-4 months in 2006. I forgot to declare this in my visa application.

Should it have been inside the visa application since it is within the 10 year period? And if yes, what should I do now? The employment was in Australia and I filed tax returns on it, so I think it would be quite easily traceable.

Given that I left it out in the visa application, should I then include it into form 80?

Any advice would be really helpful!

As per rules - I don't think they can just fly out to US. They will need to go through some visa procedure themselves, most probably with child visa sort of thing. I'm not having much info on this.

  53. Hi Admin,

Need a clarification when applying for 189 visa online.

There is section called 'Previous Countries of Residence'

Question: "Have any of the applicants lived in a country other than the primary applicant's usual country of residence?

I am not sure what should be entered here and what is the time duration for this question. I have stayed in Germany and Switzerland for some months for work related. During my stay, I travelled back to India for 2 weeks on leave. Should I mention the address where I stayed during my complete stay excluding the dates of travel to India ? For eg. I stayed in Germany from July-2011 to Oct-2011, but came back to India for 2 weeks.

I know in Form 80, we need to enter the address which I have stayed for the last 10 years, but in this online visa details, I dont know what should be entered. Please let me know.

    1. Hi Sridhar,

It implies that if you were residing in any country other than your usual country of residence (where you are settled now), then you should mention those.

For example, you were in Germany and Switzerland for work related purposes, then you should mention those. You must be having an address where you stayed there which you should include.

  57. Hi

I am filling my eVISA application online and in the 17 pages i have not come across anywhere wherein i can upload my documents. Please help me to understand where do i upload the documents ?

Also, I am widely traveled (20 Countries) over the last 10 years, In Form 80 question 46 - do i mention all the places i have stayed/lives like hotel and houses and this could run into several pages. It would be good if someone can let me know on this...

I come from a country where taxes are deducted by the company at source and the salary is paid in cash , top it all the payslips do not carry a seal and is in the local language and hence the notary will not translate or sign/seal it. However the company is willing to give Salary certificate mentioning the Gross Salary, tax deducted, other deductions and net salary given. Will this be sufficient for Salary confirmation ?

It would really be welcoming if someone could help me with the above. Everyone is doing a great job and the blog is really helping aspiring immigrants like us.

    Thanks in Advance

    1. Hi Sandy,

After you fill in the Visa application, taking care for each detail, you will be asked to make the payment.
When you get acknowledged for your payment through email, you will receive your Transaction Reference Number (TRN).
Using that create a password and login to the link below:

      https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/elp/app?login

This is the eVisa page, where you can upload the documents.
For further details on how to and what to upload, read the blog above.

In Form80, you have to mention each visit,to any country you have travelled for that past 10 years including your home country. Be aware that, even you entered any country and stayed for few hours, you should mention that. It requires pinpoint details to know your travel history.

Payslips, Bank statements, Tax documents are supporting documents to prove your employment record. The more the better, but whatever you can, please provide it.
In your case, try to translate your payslips to English and get it notarized. It requires some effort but will be worth it.
If at all nothing is feasible, then your Salary certificate can be your only choice, provided it will take more time for CO to decide on your case, that's it.

      Good luck~

    2. Hi Prem,

I really appreciate your reply, its good to see people lending a helping hand wherever they can.

In form 80 there are 2 questions - Question 45 in which i need to mention my travel history completely as you mentioned and there is Question 46 which mentions to list all the places where i have lived in the last 10 years with addresses, this is the question though i have prepared it is running into almost 8 pages of attachments. Do you think its necessary to put all the places of stay in hotels even if it was for 2 days or 3 days apart from long stays ?

Do you think there could be a rejection due to having only a salary certificate confirmed by the company or only extra time will be taken to decide the case ?

What do you think, can dependent sons who are 24 yrs can be included in application, he is completely dependent and still studying in University. What sort of proof do i need to provide that he is still dependent on me and is living with me and till date i am bearing all his expenses ? I am paying his Insurances, Medical Insurances, Study Fees, Monthly living expenses, Single, Not into any relationships et al.

Finally what are the chances of Rejection does the CO actually give you a chance to explain the documents or unavailability of documents or they simply do not give a ear to you and decide on their own without asking for explanations as to why, where, when, how ?

      Thanks
      Sandy

    3. Hi Sandy,

Our Admin is busy job hunter right now, so he's not much into his own blog nowadays.

      Nevertheless, coming to your queries:

In Form80, for Q46, you can include the places where you had RESIDED in the past 10 years. It may not include hotel stays, tourist visits, vacations etc. It's a bit different from Q45 where you have to mention all the above too.

If you are unable to produce more evidence, there are high chances that the CO can conduct employment checks which consume time. The chances of rejection lie when the CO is unable to make a decision and if the points claimed by you is not proven. The CO will talk to you about it. In order to avoid this, I recommend to put in as much evidence as you can to assist the CO in clearing your case.

Is your son migrating with you or not?
If migrating, then he may have to do medicals, PCC, Form80, proof of age, relationship (with you) evidence, Functional English requirement (IELTS 4.5 or transcript from university that "Medium of instruction is English"), University certificates (if any). You can read more in the blog above.
You can attach the receipts of the bills paid by you for any expenses of your son and include your bank statements to provide justice that the particular amount was paid from your A/c for his expenses.
If not migrating with you, then he should do medicals.
The reason is he is dependant on you, so non-migrating dependants also should undertake medical tests.

When your visa application fails to provide suitable evidence to support your points claimed, then the CO will talk to you about it. He will not act on his own or do anything at his will. You will be consulted and requested to provide more evidence, failing which there are chances of visa rejection.

  58. hi admin
very insightful blog and very useful information. i have read through all the blogs and still have a question.
i applied to the ACS for my skills assessment on tuesday and it is being assessed. the question i have is, will i receive a positive result from ACS for applying for 189 if i dont have any work experience being a business analyst? i studied for two years in edinburgh scotland then came to australia on a working holiday visa and while here completed my final year of my bachelor majoring in IT. is this sufficient to get a positive result?
i have 65 points for the skill select and just need the positive result to apply.
any advice would be greatly appreciated

    cheers ryan

  59. Hi VIJAY here

I lodged my evisa in May, No case officer has been allocated yet.

When I will be allocated a case officer will they send me a email?

or I just have to check by logging in my immigration account

    1. Hi Vijay,

      What are your timelines?
The standard CO allocation time for 189 visa is 8 weeks and 190 visa is 5 weeks.
Have you uploaded all the required documents to support your points? (For more info, read the blog above)
There will be a CO who will look into your case and if everything is satisfactory, you will get the Grant email without even CO contacting you.
But if the CO requires more evidence, then he/she will send you an email introducing themselves and requesting more documents.
CO allocation information is transmitted to you only through email, the eVisa page is only meant for uploading documents.

    2. So do you mean they can grant me a PR without case officer ?

      Delete
    3. There are many cases in the same fashion.
Of course, all cases will be assigned to Case Officers and they assess the documents you submit.
It is possible, when all documents are in place and provide enough evidence for the CO to decide on your case without even contacting you.

    4. What is the status on DIAC when you check the evisa. Is its showing as processing?

      Delete
    5. Yes... against each applicant as "Processing" and overall as "In Progress".
When CO contacted me, I emailed all the requeseted documents directly to her.
Though all my documentation are finalized (as per CO information) except the result of referred medicals, the status on eVisa page has not changed.

  60. Hi Prem,

Thanks for the answers, You are on both the blogs now, Medical and this one :) . WoW great job....

Pertaining to Q46, I have all the information including each and every single day of my life in the last 10 years, Date/Month/Year/Location/Hotels/Residence Addresses but since i was traveling for the company all was accounted by the company and i would not have any hotel billings or such things as proof including residence of long stay except one country wherein i have the lease agreement in my name. All i have for proof is the various STAMPS of Entry and Exit into countries claimed and hotel names and addresses. I am putting them all on which run into several pages. I do not know how they are going to verify this information. Is too much information also harmful for Q46 or i just simply mention the address of the long stay ?

I have taken a letter from the bank confirming the payment for my sons fees for MBA,also i have taken a letter from the Chartered Accountant wherein she has mentioned and confirmed that the payment has been done from my account. Going a step further i have also taken a letter from the University wherein they confirmed his admission, the fees and how they received it and from which account. I also have his latest medical claim which i have paid this month. Apart from this I have also requested his earlier University in UK to give me a similar letter of confirmation so lets see how.

For IELTS the university has mentioned in the same letter that the entire course is conducted in English maybe i will have them change it to ""Medium of instruction is English" rather than conducted in English. Do you still think that IELTS would be mandatory for him ?

Let me know what your opinion is on the above, again i would simply say, you are indeed doing a great job in guiding people like us.

    Cheers!

    1. Hi Sandy,

      It's a pleasure.

Reading your post above, I feel you have got everything in place.

In Form80, for Q46, you may account for every month only. Moreover I understand you have all data to fill in, but still it should be the place where you had actually resided for the past 10 years. So temporary hotel stays do not count in that. FYI.

Regarding the documents you had collected, they would suffice.

For proving Functional English requirement for secondary applicants, you may either get the university transcript "Medium of Instruction is English" OR take up IELTS band score 4.5 either.

As you see, IELTS would be mandatory if you cannot produce the university transcript.

      Wish you good luck~

  61. Hi Admin,

I am going to lodge application after hhaving 2 passports for my kids, i see you mention about high school cert, secondary school cert, transcripts, ... i think the Univ degree and uni transcripts would be sufficient , why we need high school docs here?

Thanks alot and looking forward to your advice...

    1. Hi Imugly,

High school markseets may be required since DIAC asks for details pertaining to secondary education and above. You may find it in the visa application and Form80.
That's why our Admin has mentioned those.
Moreover, if you can't produce birth certificates, then 10th and 12th mark sheets may be supportive for proof of your age.

  62. Hi Admin,

I lodged the evisa application on 14-06-2013. Still did not get any message about a CO.
How do they assign a CO? Do they email us or do we have to check the application regularly.

    THANKS

    1. A CO will be allotted to your case and he/she will make a preliminary assessment.
If CO thinks further documents may be necessary for supporting your point claims, then he/she will contact you by email.
Once you feel you have uploaded all documents, it is advisable not to visit the eVisa page concurrently.
Any communication will be only through email.

  63. Hi,

I have got an invite to apply for VISA 190 on 16'th July and I have 60 days to submit my application. I have a new born baby born in July itself and I don't have the passport for him. In such case what can be done? Can I submit my application and then later on add my child as an additional member? Will it incur extra charges apart from the normal fee for the child i.e. 775 AUD ? Can there be any issues in going by this approach or should I just wait for my babies passport and then submit the application?

    Many Thanks,

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I reckon you should include your baby's details if you want your baby to migrate with you together. You cannot add it on a later stage. It would become an overall different process then.
So you can apply for baby's passport or get consultation from the passport office about the baby's travel document if there are any other options.
I personally don't have experience or seen similar cases.
But Iam sure that if the baby goes with you, then the baby should be one of the applicants.

  64. Hi Prem,

I am back with a question. It is pertaining to my job references and contracts. All my documents are in dual languages Native and English do i still have to notarize them ? or Scans of Originals will be ok to upload on the eVISA application. I am confused ? All other documents such as Birth Certificates, Educational Certificates, Transcripts and all other such documents are Notarized.

Also i need to know should i upload form 80 along with the other documents or should i wait for the CO to ask for the same. As a dependent do i also need to upload my Educational Documents, Work Documents or only assessment of SkillSelect is good enough with other basic documents. ? My PCC and all dependents have been taken.

Its been almost 25 days since i have got an invitation to file my application and am running against time.

    Please advise.

    Cheers!
    Sandy

  65. Hi Sandy,

    Welcome back~

For your information, all color scans of original documents can be uploaded directly. They don't need to be notarized.
All your original documents in English can be uploaded directly.
If some documents you want to upload are only in your native language, then you may need to translate those to English with an accredited translator and notarize it.
If you want to upload photocopies of originals, then you should notarize those too.
In fact, you could have scanned the original Birth certificates, Educational certificates and transcripts etc. if they were in color, and uploaded it without spending for notarization. That is what has been mentioned on the blog by the Admin.

    Form80 is a mandatory document.
Separate Form80s should be filled in by all applicants.
Some people keep it filled up and don't upload on the pretext to make the CO contact them to request the same.
But it would be better to upload the Form80 beforehand also.

For migrating dependants, Educational documents, PCC, Medicals, Proof of Age, Relationship evidence, Functional English, Travel document, photo are necessary.
For migrating dependants who claim partner points, IELTS score (competent English) and Skills assessment are an add on.
For non-migrating dependants (above 16), PCC and medicals are only required.

You said you got 25 days to file your application.
Haven't you applied your visa yet with payment?
I thought you are in the process of uploading docs?
Anyway, hope you understood the above.

    Good luck~

  66. Hi Prem,

Thanks for the info, Nope have not uploaded the documents as i had to send some documents to have them translated to English to my native country and then have them notarize them. Also my elder son is unable to provide PCC or do his health as of current as he is in the middle of his major projects and exams.

I understand that they verify the information deeply of the primary applicant. Do they also do the same with the dependents or its just that they want to have it on their records, this is just for my knowledge so i understand how much time they are going take for coming to a decision :) as my partners information goes into several pages of Part J - Additional Details and if they start on each of them then i am sure that they will take about 2 yrs :) even though my case is priority case.

What if one of the dependent has a health problem e.g. High Cholestrol, would they refuse the primary applicant and/or the dependents or simply ask him to be removed from the application ? Any idea ?

    Cheers!
    Sandy

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hi Sandy,

OK I understand your position now.
I would suggest that even if your elder son can't attend medicals, he can atleast intiate PCC (to save time).

DIAC not only verifies for the primary applicant, but also for the secondary applicant as well.
That's why Form80 is required to be filled in separately by each individual applicant.
Unfortunately, your partner may have to fill in details of entry visits to any country he visited, and all other applicable fields requested on that form.

For any reason, if the visa may be rejected for any applicant on the application, not mandatorily the primary applicant only, all the applicants will be denied visa to enter australia.

In simple terms, the visa grant for all applicants will be ruled out even if any one applicant fails to meet the requirements.

  68. hi admin thank you so much for your information in this blog
i have got some question regarding 190 . i have recently got invitation to apply for the visa 190 , i have apply the visa with visa fee . and attached all the document that i have , i applied 5 days ago ..so i havent had a case officer assigned yet
while i filled the visa application online i have only shown two job with in my last four years but i have worked so many jobs in the last ten years in australia .so i have overworked my 20 hrs limit thats why i only show my tow jobs , i havent filled the form 80 yet but in the form 80 it ask all the jobs with in 10 years and i ma worried abt showing all my past jobs is it might be problematic . any suggestions if i got asked to fill form 80 do i stick with that two jobs which i shown in my visa application or i have to show all of them , as i did those jobs in tax . does immigration cross check on the tax ?
    thank you so much

    1. hey buddy - if I got you right, you claimed points for only 2 jobs.
If that's the thing - then its okay to show all the rest of jobs in Form 80.
And well in any case not showing the job you do when you are asked to list all of them would not be right thing to do.
      Hope that helps.

  69. hi admin thanks for the reply . no i have not claimed points under skilled employment . and those jobs are not related to skilled employment . do we have to show all the jobs that we do in ten years time even if i dont claimed the point ?

    1. Hi,
I dont think that can be solved prior to CO allocation. CO would himself be able to remove them. But you better state good reason why you included them earlier and why you are removing now.
      Let him know once allocated.
      Good luck!

  72. Hi Prem,

Once again i have a question. I have been invited to apply as you know, but of recent my partners educational qualification folder is misplaced with no trace. I have claimed her points to reach 75. I want to remove my claim from EOI on partners points is it possible Now. I do not see any withdraw button wherein i can withdraw my EOI. What options do i have if i do not want to claim partner points, as its very difficult to recreate her file sitting here in another country. Even for State Nomination under subclause 190 i think i will have to file for State Nomination again.

I really dont know why it had to happen at such a time when we have been invited to file :(

It would be great if i can have your opinion.

    Cheers!

    1. Hi Sandy,

Iam also unable to give expert advise on this issue.
I guess you can lodge your visa application without putting in your partner points.
However, it would be different from your EOI definitely.
I wish I don't mislead you with wrong information.
I hope our admin can say something about this...
      Seems he is back...

    2. Hey! Admin...
Happy to inform you that I got the visa grant today (29th July).
Thank you for the wonderful information you had provided.
I wish to be there sometime next year and need to search a job.
      My timelines are:

      IELTS: 9/6/12 | EA (233513) +ve: 9/4/13 | EOI Lodg: 22/4/13 | EOI Invite: 6/5/13 | Visa (189) Applied: 6/5/13 | Med: 10/5/13 | PCC: 3/6/13 | CO-T34: 5/6/13 | Grant : 29/7/13

    3. Hey Prem,
Congrats man! 2.5 months - decent timing!
You are welcome and thanks for sharing that further here with others :)

    4. Hey Sandy - Sorry to hear that .. that's not good! You should NOT go forward if you can NOT prove the points on whose basis you have got invited.
Safe option at this time would be to mail skill select and describe your situation and ask if you could lodge another EOI so that you do not have to wait for this one to expire which would take 2 months time.
As if you would have there permission to lodge parallel EOI then at later stage there would not be any problem if it was found. Hope that helps.. Best of Luck!
